Mexico · Question 2: which clinics?
Every government-listed medical facility in Mexico
5,877 facilities appear on the federal CLUES catalogue of private health establishments as of September 30, 2026. This is the whole field, reproduced from the regulator without ranking or omission. The 41 providers we have researched in depth are marked where they appear; they are a documented subset, not a shortlist of the only legitimate options.
What being on this list means
The establishment holds a CLUES code, the federal identifier every health facility in Mexico is assigned, and the state health services report it as a private-sector unit in operation of the type shown: an inpatient hospital, an outpatient clinic, a physician office, a laboratory or a regenerative-medicine unit. The type matters: only an inpatient hospital is registered to keep you overnight.
What it does not mean
A CLUES entry is not a licence check and not a quality mark. Most dental offices and many cosmetic "clinics" are absent because they operate on a COFEPRIS notice without inpatient beds (Los Algodones, with hundreds of dental clinics, has one entry). A listed hospital may hold no current Consejo de Salubridad General certificate; only 15 establishments nationwide did as of September 1, 2026, and those are flagged here.
Source: Catálogo CLUES de Establecimientos de Salud (DGIS, Secretaría de Salud), private-sector establishments in operation: hospitals, clinics, physician offices, outpatient units, laboratories and regenerative-medicine units (pharmacy consulting rooms, mobile units, blood banks and warehouses excluded), as published September 30, 2026. The list uses legal entity names. If a brand does not appear, search the street address from the clinic's contact page, then ask the clinic for the name on its certificate.
By facility type
The licence type tells you what a facility may legally do on its own premises. It is the first thing to match against the procedure you are booking.
- Hospitals (inpatient)3,687
- Private establishments registered to admit patients overnight. Surgery under general anesthesia for a visitor should happen here, not in an office suite.
- Clinics (outpatient)313
- Multi-physician outpatient units without registered inpatient beds.
- Private physician offices744
- Single-physician consulting rooms (consultorio particular) that report a CLUES; most do not.
- Other outpatient units600
- Outpatient establishments whose type the state did not specify, including some imaging and specialty centers.
- Laboratories523
- Clinical laboratories.
- Regenerative-medicine units and stem-cell banks10
- The only CLUES types that correspond to stem-cell activity. A COFEPRIS licence to bank cells is not approval of any treatment, and none of these therapies is FDA-approved.

The 41 providers we have researched
For each of these we record what is documented: registration or licence status against this list, named operating doctors and anesthesia plan, published prices, regulator or press record, and exactly how to book. 24 of them are matched to a row on this list by name; the rest trade under a brand that differs from the legal name on the register, and their profiles say so.
